January Five Colour Friday

A new year, and the start of another collection of colours. This month I also want to introduce you to something new. Read on for more.

It’s been freezing here, no snow – but ice and frost. I don’t take extremes of temperature well with Reynaud’s Syndrome.

Consequently I felt the need to add a good degree of warmth to the colours for this month.

Gold is one of the most versatile colours in the Stylecraft Special DK range so for the purposes of this it’s my joining colour, adding a warm glow to the others.

You have probably noticed images like the above popping up all over the internet and especially on Instagram. It’s from a new app called Crochet Studio. Not only can it illustrate your colours, as above, but can also generate patterns for you – in squares and stripes.

For instance – like the ones below (you can download the untested patterns for these below too)

I haven’t tried the generated layouts as I find that part of making great fun.

There will be a quick ‘catch-up’ post on CROCHETALONGWITHME at the end of the month. Two blankets finished so far – and that doesn’t include #simplythirtysquares.

Colour has been business for a number of years. Crochet is one of my current means of expression and I enjoy enabling other creatives. Some of my blogs are kept as daily records. Take a look and you will see.
